Background
After more than a decade in local daily print journalism, I successfully translated my skills to internal and corporate communications for large-scale private companies looking to connect with internal and external clients. I am adept at finding the right voice for each communication, and I enjoy writing for a variety of audiences. My passion, however, is editing. Skilled editing is a combination of creativity and structure -- knowing the rules and knowing when to break them.
With an English teacher for a mother and a journalist for a father, I may not have been born with a red pen in my hand, but I grabbed one pretty quickly.

"Anne Fisher brings to her work as editor, writer and project manager hands-on newsroom experience, keen wit and impressive powers of observation. Equally comfortable in grubby newsrooms and corporate conference rooms, Anne is down-to-earth and pragmatic in her approach to writing, editing, managing people and leading teams. A sensitive writer and incisive editor, her deep visual intelligence and relentless curiosity add sizzle to her work. Fearless in the face of new technology and a relentless prankster to boot, she’s a smart and delightful addition to any project. In short, Anne brings an entirely unique combination of personal and professional qualities that inform and elevate every communication – and team – she touches.”

"Anne’s ability to have immediate, meaningful impact shaping new and unfamiliar content would be an asset for any project and organization. Our high profile thought-leadership platform had a sudden need for help and Anne was not only able to clean up our technical and production issues, but she brought a much needed perspective on how every small detail fit into our big picture. I quickly grew to value Anne as a trusted creative partner and visionary who was able to dream big, while also keeping our feet firmly planted on the ground. We would not have had the success we’ve had without her selfless and dedicated attention. Go Anne!”

"I was impressed with Anne from day one, when she joined the corporate team and I was leading communications for one of the Maritz business units. When I joined the corporate team in 2019, Anne had been the glue holding down the fort in the wake of departures from other leaders. Working with her every day now was a joy, especially when we partnered with colleagues from Maritz Global Events to co-chair the company’s 125th anniversary celebration. It’s a day and an effort I won’t soon forget and can’t imagine it without Anne’s partnership. Her attention to detail, creativity and work ethic are rare.
For most of the time I worked with her, Anne managed our daily social media efforts. One post comes to mind because it was perfection. A carefully crafted and thoughtful reflection thanking the St. Louis Blues after their incredible Stanley Cup win. It was so good, we repurposed it to use in a newspaper ad.
Anne is a journalist at heart, and that reporter's curiosity usually lands her at the center of what's happening. She has a passion for getting involved and is not one to sit on the sidelines -- she jumps in with both feet, a skilled storyteller, expert editor and a great team member. I’d love the opportunity to work with her again."

"Anne and her mighty pen are quite a team in getting the Maritz story out about what the company is doing in the community. For the last two years, Anne not only compiled and wrote the copy for the Community Impact Report, but she also wrote endless social media postings, MyMaritz stories and workplace/philanthropic award applications, all of which bring recognition to Maritz and our non-profit partners and serve as an inspiration for our employees and others in the community to get involved. Thank you, Anne, for taking our community involvement program to a new level through your masterful writing skills and talents."
